Important note about the Vaccine Estimator click here
The exact number for Herd Immunity is still unknown and it varies from area to area, depending on how contagious the spread of the virus is, how densely populated an area is etc. However, Experts believe that on average, herd immunity is achieved at 70%-95% of total population being fully vaccinated. Please note that this only assumes that herd immunity is possible through vaccination only and doesn't take into effect the other factors. Other sources claim that anywhere above 70% of fully vaccinated people, can enable the region or country to better control the pandemic.
Look for the 70% Vaccinated Est. (Days) column. It shows how many days are left till 70% of the total population of each area will be fully vaccinated.
It uses the historical data from each area and produces a mathematical function which in turn, will calculate the number of days remaining until fully vaccinated people have reached 70% of total population.
Of course, despite the vaccinations is one of the most important factors for reaching herd immunity, there are other factors influencing this scenario which Experts are yet to come up with all the factors. We have to say that herd immunity also depends on how contagious COVID-19 is in certain areas. As 70% is the most discussed number, we can assume that herd will be reached at 70%, but it certainly should not be taken for granted.
